All passengers and crew were “accounted for,” the airport said. A Peel Regional Police spokesperson said there were “a few” injuries and no known fatalities. Greater Toronto Airports Authority will lead the investigation, they said.
Photos on X appeared to show the plane upside down and at least one wing missing.
The Bombardier CRJ900 was flying from Minneapolis and was operated by Delta’s wholly-owned regional subsidiary, Endeavor Air.
A Delta spokesperson was not immediately able to provide comment.
Flights to the airport were halted due to the emergency, and there are no updates yet on when they may resume. The airport remains closed.
