(TYO:) added 4.77% or 150.00 points to end at 3,294.00 and SUMCO Corp. (TYO:) was up 4.44% or 62.00 points to 1,459.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Keio Corp. (TYO:), which fell 3.59% or 129.00 points to trade at 3,465.00 at the close. Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. (TYO:) declined 3.26% or 71.50 points to end at 2,125.00 and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (TYO:) was down 2.86% or 17.00 points to 577.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2351 to 1220 and 268 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.70% or 0.49 to $69.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.71% or 0.52 to hit $73.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.35 to trade at $2,595.75 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.58% to 141.57, while EUR/JPY fell 0.55% to 157.40.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 100.54.
