BEIJING (Reuters) – China will launch investigations into U.S. government subsidies to its semiconductor sector at the request of China’s mature node chip industry, the commerce ministry said on Thursday.
China’s chip industry said that the Biden administration has provided large amounts of subsidies to the U.S. chip industry, giving U.S. companies an unfair competitive advantage, according to the commerce ministry.
U.S. firms exported mature node chip products to China at low prices, damaging the rights and interests of China’s industry, the ministry said.
