TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese electric motor maker Nidec posted a 5% rise in third-quarter operating profit on Thursday to 54.5 billion yen ($348 million), compared to 51.8 billion yen in the same period a year earlier.
The earnings for the three months to end-December were weaker than a 62.3 billion yen profit estimated on average by nine analysts surveyed by LSEG.
The Kyoto-based firm maintained its full-year operating profit forecast of 240 billion yen. That compared to an average forecast of 245.0 billion yen based on estimates from 20 analysts.
