    • I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, and it was every bit as luxurious as I expected.
    • As a guest of the hotel, I could get complimentary espresso drinks delivered to my room.
    • My bathroom had luxurious products, and each floor had a pantry stocked with free snacks.

Some hotels feel like just a place to sleep, but others feel like a full experience. The Four Seasons Hotel Boston falls into the latter category.

For years, I’d heard about the Four Seasons’ timeless luxury, but I’d never actually stayed at any of the chain’s hotels. That changed on a recent trip to Boston, where I checked into the Four Seasons on Boylston Street.

The 239-room hotel is situated in a prime location downtown, directly across from the Public Garden, and just a short walk from several train stations or a 20-minute drive from the airport.

Over the course of my two-night stay, I got a feel for what sets the Four Seasons brand — and this particular location — apart. Here are the 11 things that made my stay feel especially luxurious.

My executive suite was so spacious that it felt like an apartment.

There was plenty of space in the Four Seasons Hotel Boston executive suite.

I stayed in a premier garden-view executive suite, which typically costs about $1,700 a night, though Business Insider received a media rate for the two-night stay.

The 625-square-foot room, which can sleep up to three adults, felt massive. Upon entering, I walked down a hallway that led to a large bathroom and opened up into a spacious living area with a cozy couch, a TV, and two cushioned chairs.

Sliding doors separated it from the bedroom, creating a nice sense of privacy and division between the spaces.

I especially appreciated the natural light that poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, which offered stunning views of the Public Garden and Boston skyline.

As a solo traveler, I really felt like I had my own private apartment.

I found the bedding to be so comfortable that it made it hard to leave the room.

A close-up of the pillows on a bed at the Four Seasons.

I want these pillows for my own house.

    Amanda Shammas

This hotel has the most comfortable bedding I’ve ever slept in.

The duvet felt slightly weighted but airy, and the pillows were cushy, filled with down and feathers. Sinking into the bed felt like melting into a plush, cloud-like cocoon.

I looked forward to sleeping in it every night, and even found myself searching for where I could buy the sheet set and pillows.

It turns out that the Four Seasons sells its entire Hotel Collection online. I’ve already decided that these pillows will be the first thing on my registry when I get married.

The hotel’s café, Sottovento Coffee, offers complimentary handcrafted drinks to guests.

Using the coffee concierge was my favorite part of the stay.

    Amanda Shammas

As a guest of the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, I was able to order complimentary handcrafted espresso drinks, teas, and coffees from the lobby’s café, Sottovento Coffee.

As if that weren’t wonderful enough, hotel guests have access to a coffee-concierge service allowing them to order drinks to be delivered to their rooms.

Whether I was in the middle of doing my makeup or still tucked into bed, I could easily order a latte through the Four Seasons app every morning. Though my drinks were complimentary, I made sure to bring small bills to tip the delivery staff.

This was easily my favorite part of the entire stay. Unfortunately, though, not every Four Seasons offers a coffee-concierge perk.

Each floor has a complimentary snack pantry.

I frequently stopped in The Vault to grab snacks.

    Amanda Shammas

As a frequent snacker, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that every floor of the hotel has a complimentary snack pantry called The Vault that could be accessed 24 hours a day with a key card.

I was impressed by the variety of chips, popcorn, nuts, jelly beans, flavored water, and classic movie-theater candy. This unlimited access to high-quality snacks at any time of day made my stay feel indulgent.

Each morning, I’d swing by on my way out to grab a few snacks for the day, and at night, I’d pop in again for popcorn to enjoy while winding down with a movie.

Another exclusive offering of the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, this quickly became one of my favorite amenities.

I appreciated that the bathroom was stocked with high-end toiletries.

Bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash on a shelf in the shower.

After my stay, I also looked into purchasing Frédéric Malle toiletries.

    Amanda Shammas

My bathroom featured luxurious Frédéric Malle toiletries, including hand wash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

They all smelled wonderful — slightly floral, yet elevated with a warm, woodsy undertone.

Considering the brand’s higher price point (its 200-milliliter bottles of body gel typically retail for $75 each), I appreciated getting to use as much of the products as I wanted during my stay.

Though the hotel’s in the middle of a big city, it has a surprisingly peaceful outdoor lounge area.

You can order room service through the telephone booth.

    Amanda Shammas

Outside in the hotel’s courtyard is The Sanctuary, a name that perfectly captures its vibe as a serene outdoor lounge area with tables, chairs, couches, and even a TV.

The patio’s vintage-style booth even has a phone inside that guests could use to order a snack, meal, or creative cocktail delivery.

I spent some time out in The Sanctuary each morning sipping on my coffee, and I felt like it set the tone for the rest of each day. While I was there, I could even hear a soft, spa-like chime playing through the speakers outside, which instantly relaxed me.

The pool was a highlight with its stunning views of the city.

The Four Seasons Hotel Boston pool overlooks the Public Garden.

    Amanda Shammas

The eighth floor is home to an indoor pool and hot tub area, complete with floats, cushioned lounge chairs, and even waterproof magazines.

Just beside the pool, I found a thoughtfully stocked space with a Nespresso machine, fresh apples, boxed water, and towels. Guests can also order poolside dining, which further adds to the sense of luxury and relaxation in the space.

However, the stunning views really are the best part of the pool area. Through the large windows, I could see the Boston Public Garden and the vibrant colors of fall foliage below.

The hotel gym had everything I needed for a full workout.

You can grab an apple and water after your workout.

    Amanda Shammas

Also located on the eighth floor, the gym offered a great variety of equipment in a well-designed space.

One wall is lined with treadmills facing a full-length mirror, and the opposite wall features weight machines overlooking the courtyard through large windows.

There’s also a dedicated area with free weights, Bosu balls, and other functional training equipment. On the far side of the room, I found shelves stocked with towels, boxed water, and fresh apples.

I also appreciated how well-equipped the locker room was.

The locker room provided all the hygiene products I needed.

    Amanda Shammas

The women’s locker room in the hallway connecting the gym and the pool also impressed me.

A row of personal lockers lines one wall, with private toilets and showers nearby. I passed by both a sauna and a steam room, along with stacks of plush towels and a mini fridge stocked with chilled ones for cooling off after a workout.

I didn’t end up showering here during my stay, but I easily could have with nothing more than a change of clothes.

The locker room was stocked with everything I could need to freshen up — high-end lotions, deodorant, feminine products, hairbrushes, a hairdryer, and more.

There’s a hidden door in the lobby that leads to a children’s toy room.

A hidden door painted to blend into the wall.

The hotel offers a fun scavenger hunt for children.

    Amanda Shammas

Though I wasn’t traveling with kids, I appreciated that the hotel had a scavenger hunt set up for those staying on the property.

Upon check-in, children can enter a hidden door behind the front desk, nearly invisible, as it blends seamlessly into the wallpaper.

It leads to a toy room filled with shelves of goodies. The child can choose a toy as an arrival amenity, then take a hint card to begin their hunt throughout the hotel.

The final hint cards lead to a treat collected at Coterie. Though I didn’t participate myself, I did get a peek inside the hidden room, which truly felt magical.

The scavenger hunt felt like a brilliant way to keep young travelers entertained and add a playful, unforgettable moment to a family’s stay.

Correction: October 15, 2025 — An earlier version of this story misstated the role of the hotel’s toy closet in the scavenger-hunt experience and how the prize is collected. Guests collect the prize at Coterie, not the toy closet, which can be visited upon check-in.
