Bitcoin Near $78K as Bond Market Stress Keeps Crypto Defensive; Bitcoin Hyper Presale Tops $33.12M | Invesloan.com

Crypto is trading as a macro asset again, with the bond market driving the day’s risk tone. Bitcoin price has drifted back toward $78,000 as long-term US borrowing costs remain elevated, falling 1.6% on the day and sitting roughly flat on the week. The broader digital asset market is down 1.88% to $2.65 trillion.

The shift has not triggered outright panic, but it has pushed traders into a more defensive posture. The Fear and Greed Index slipped to 70 from 73 while staying in “Greed,” listed ETF products recorded $115 million in net outflows over the past 24 hours, and derivatives markets saw $350.86 million in liquidations, made up of $278.18 million in longs and $72.68 million in shorts.

That mix of sticky yields, softer flows, and position flushes is also helping redirect attention toward Bitcoin-linked infrastructure plays. Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER), a project building a Bitcoin Layer 2 network, has now raised more than $33 million in presale funding and is approaching the $35 million mark.

Treasury Buybacks Fall Short of a Strong Macro Relief Signal

The immediate focus for cross-asset markets is the US Treasury’s plan to buy back up to $6 billion in 10-year and 20-year notes today in a 20-minute operation ending at 2pm ET. The size is triple the usual $2 billion pace, and later operations are expected to reach at least $4 billion.

Officials have presented the move as a liquidity step for the less-active long end of the curve, where yields have climbed to levels not seen since before the 2008 financial crisis. The announcement follows Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s mid-August statement that repurchases of already-issued securities would at least double.

But the market response suggests traders were looking for more. Publicly held federal debt is near $31.8 trillion, total government debt has surpassed $40 trillion, and Treasury issuance is running 11.8% above 2025 levels. With crude oil still above $100 a barrel, investors are also weighing persistent inflation risks tied to tariffs and broader energy costs.

After the update, the 10-year yield traded around 4.841%, the 20-year reached 5.314%, and the 30-year moved above 5.3%. Some bond desks had been positioned for a larger intervention, potentially as high as $10 billion, after expectations built around the earlier promise to double buybacks. That has left the latest operation looking underpowered rather than reassuring.

BTC Holds a Key Floor While ETF Flows and Liquidations Weaken the Tape

Crypto markets have absorbed that macro pressure with a broad risk-off move. Bitcoin is again testing the $78,000 area, while Ethereum has dropped below $2,500 and is changing hands near $2,470 after a 1.7% decline.

Analyst Daan Crypto said Bitcoin’s repeated rebounds from roughly $77,800 still matter as a support signal just beneath the $78,000 psychological area, although he characterized the current market as a “chop fest” unless that floor breaks.

    $BTC & $ETH Same but different.

ETH has formed a tighter range while sitting on its ~$2460 support while $BTC has been more volatile and keeps bouncing from its $77.8K support.

For traders, the read-through is straightforward: higher long-end yields are tightening financial conditions, and crypto is responding in line with other risk assets. Negative ETF flows and heavy long liquidations have reinforced that backdrop, even if broader sentiment has not fully rolled over.

Why Capital Is Still Flowing Into Bitcoin Layer 2 Narratives

Even in a macro-led pullback, some investors are rotating toward projects tied to Bitcoin’s longer-term utility rather than near-term spot direction. Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER) is one of the names benefiting from that trend as it works on a Bitcoin Layer 2 using the Solana Virtual Machine for execution while ultimately settling back to Bitcoin.

The model is built around users depositing BTC through a canonical bridge. A relay program then verifies Bitcoin block headers and transaction proofs before minting a corresponding balance on the Layer 2. The network is designed to support faster transfers along with staking, swaps, lending, and other applications, with transactions batched and committed back to Bitcoin using zero-knowledge proofs. Withdrawals reverse that path to release BTC on Layer 1.

HYPER functions as the network’s gas, staking, and governance token. Total supply is fixed at 21 billion, a nod to Bitcoin’s 21 million cap. The allocation breaks down into 30% for development, 25% for treasury and community initiatives, 20% for marketing, 15% for rewards, and 10% for listings. The project says Coinsult and SpyWolf have completed security reviews.

Mainnet rollout for the Layer 2, bridge activation, and SVM integration are scheduled for later in 2026, with developer tooling and major exchange listings for HYPER also on the roadmap.

Presale Momentum Builds as HYPER Approaches $35 Million

The presale price is currently $0.013686, with total fundraising above $33.12 million and moving toward $35 million. Each stage runs for three days or until its allocation sells out, and the sale does not include private allocations. Buyers can also stake immediately after purchase for a 35% APY.

That setup has helped sustain demand even as Bitcoin consolidates near $78,000 and bond yields stay high. The appeal for some market participants is less about chasing a short-term bounce and more about backing infrastructure aimed at making Bitcoin more practical for payments and Web3 use cases.

    How to Access the Sale

Investors who want to participate before the exchange listing can go to the official Bitcoin Hyper website, connect a compatible wallet, choose an amount, and complete the purchase there. Presale tokens will be claimable at the token generation event through the same official channel.

HYPER is also available through the Best Wallet crypto app, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app provides another route for mobile users. Accepted payment methods include ETH, USDT, USDC, BNB, and SOL, as well as bank card purchases. Staking is available at purchase and currently offers a 35% APY, while the token remains priced at $0.013686 until tomorrow.
