When it comes to fried chicken, some spots simply do it better than others.

Whether you like your fried chicken boneless or bone-in, with a hint of spice, served in a bucket, or sandwiched between buns, these restaurants across the US have something for everyone.

Business Insider worked with Yelp to compile a list of the best fried chicken in every state. The online review platform identified businesses in its restaurants and food categories with a high concentration of reviews mentioning “fried chicken.” The spots were then ranked using several factors, including review volume and ratings.

When available, every restaurant on the list had a passing health score as of September 24, 2026. If a business with multiple locations appeared more than once, Yelp included only its highest-ranked location.

Here’s the best fried chicken in every state, according to Yelp.
