BENGALURU (Reuters) -Microsoft will help the event of voice-based generative synthetic intelligence (AI) purposes via a partnership with Indian startup Sarvam AI, the Windows-maker stated on Thursday.
The partnership was introduced throughout CEO Satya Nadella’s three-day go to as the corporate pushes for wider adoption of its merchandise by customers in India, the fastest-growing main financial system.
On Wednesday, Nadella had introduced an initiative to offer 2 million Indians with AI skilling alternatives by 2025.
Sarvam AI is constructing genAI fashions concentrating on Indic languages and context, and can now create its options on Microsoft (NASDAQ:)’s cloud companies together with Azure OpenAI Service, Microsoft stated in an announcement.
The startup – whose founders earlier developed AI fashions at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras-based analysis group AI4Bharat – has raised $41 million in a sequence A funding from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Peak XV Partners and Khosla Ventures.
