A pair of Delta Air Lines regional jets collided at New York’s LaGuardia airport on Wednesday evening.
The airline said in a statement to Business Insider that two jets, one headed for Virginia and the other arriving from North Carolina, were involved in a “low-speed collision during taxi.”
“Preliminary information indicates contact by the wing of the departing aircraft was made with the fuselage of the arriving aircraft,” the airline said.
Both jets were operated by Endeavor Air, a subsidiary of Delta. The collision happened at 9 p.m. E.T. The jet headed to Virginia was carrying 28 passengers. The other plane had 57 passengers on board.
Delta said in the statement that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident and that it would fully cooperate with authorities to investigate.
