A Disney blackout on YouTube TV has left subscribers unable to watch content from Disney networks, including ESPN, ABC, Disney Channel, FX, National Geographic, and Freeform.
YouTube TV subscribers also aren’t able to access Disney content that they had added to their libraries on the platform.
Popular shows across Disney channels include “Abbott Elementary” and ESPN’s coverage of the NFL, NBA, and college sports.
YouTube and Disney failed to reach a new carriage agreement by a Thursday deadline.
A Disney spokesperson said that YouTube’s parent company Google had refused to pay fair rates for its channels.
“With a $3 trillion market cap, Google is using its market dominance to eliminate competition and undercut the industry-standard terms we’ve successfully negotiated with every other distributor,” the Disney spokesperson said in a statement.
YouTube TV said in an email to customers that it was working to bring Disney content back to the platform. The company said it would offer subscribers a $20 credit if the content was unavailable for an extended period of time, though it didn’t specify this time period.
