The SPDR S&P 500 Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY), the world’s largest exchange-traded fund, witnessed a net outflow of $2.47B during the holiday-shortened week. SPY continues to face outflows in the first week of July, after recording an outflow of $9.6B in June. Conversely, Wall Street’s benchmark index kicked off H2 2024 with a weekly gain of 1.95%, the best since late April amid labor market data; some dovish commentary from Fed chair Jerome Powell and the minutes of the central bank’s last monetary policy meeting.

The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) received the highest inflow for the 2nd week, gathering $615.8M. The consumer discretionary-focused ETF (XLY) generated $331.65M in inflows.
