Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong appreciates the wild conspiracy concept that Babe Ruth by no means existed | Invesloan.com

If there is someone in your life who says they don’t believe in, or at the very least enjoy, a good conspiracy theory, they are lying to you. There are, of course, different levels of conspiracy theories, and one that involves the idea that one of the greatest baseball players to ever walk the Earth simply didn’t exist would be towards the top of the list of crazy.

That isn’t stopping Chicago Cubs superstar Pete Crow-Armstrong from being all ears.

During a recent appearance on Kristin Cavallari’s ‘Let’s Be Honest’ podcast, PCA was asked to share an unpopular opinion. Instead of answering the basic question with a basic answer – maybe tying it back to food or general life musings – he opted to talk about one of the wildest conspiracies in the sports universe.

“This is gonna be crazy,” Crow-Armstrong began. “Babe Ruth never existed is one that I like…I heard some pitcher with the Mariners, (Tayler) Saucedo, I think he did some podcast on Zoom when he was like going down the rabbit hole about how Babe Ruth never existed, and I was like dude, that’s awesome.

“We always talk about how the game is evolving, and people may as well have been underhanding the ball to that guy, and he’s regarded still as one of the best players ever. You might as well dive further into it and be like, well maybe he just never existed.”

The podcast that Crow-Armstrong referenced does exist, and dates back to a 2024 interview with Saucedo in which he made the claim that Ruth never existed simply because there isn’t a lot of footage of him playing.

Ruth played from 1914 to 1935, an era in which cameras and televisions weren’t exactly prominent, hence the lack of footage of The Babe on the diamond.

It’s worth noting that Crow-Armstrong never definitively said that ‘Babe Ruth never existed ‘; he simply voiced his appreciation for the conspiracy theory given how bizarre it is and that it involves one of the most talked-about athletes in the history of American sports.

Ruth, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, won seven World Series titles and led the American League in home runs 12 times.

    Or did he?
