Thanks to Roger Goodell insisting on playing games on Wednesday night, it feels like a Friday morning, but it’s actually Thursday. Welcome into Thursday Screencaps where we all try to come down off that incredible game last night in Seattle. What a defensive struggle. What a tough night for the OVER bettors.
Football IS BACK, but I have to start this morning with the official trailer for Team Moms: Baseball that has the hair on my arms sticking straight up. For those of you who don’t already know, I am the leader of the Make Rec Ball Great Again movement, but this new reality show from Paramount+ speaks to my soul.

It’s everything I’ve written about the last 4-5 years. It’s everything that the travel baseball parents say that they’re not, but they are. THIS is the reality. Now, not all baseball moms have fake boobs and get Botox treatments – let’s face it, the typical travel ball mama bear is bloated on High Noons and Waffle House – but what you’re seeing here is everything that travel baseball moms want to be in life.
Kim Kardashian, the brains behind this project, absolutely NAILED IT.

Kim Kardashian hit the Monaco Grand Prix to support her Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton, but she sure didn’t win over too many F1 fans in the process. (Photo by Pascal Le Segretain/WireImage))
- I absolutely LOVE that these women want to kill each other because that’s exactly the mindset travel moms have. They’ll claim their teams are like families. STOP. These mama bears would do anything for their baby boys to get a starting position over some other family’s kid and then smile inside when it happens.
- In the trailer, there’s the mom who thinks her son will play in Major League Baseball. That’s reality. It’s beautiful to hear and see the honesty. If you didn’t think your son wasn’t going to the next level, or college to play baseball, why would you bother spending the money on this racket. I give Team Moms credit for speaking the truth.
- Hate Kardashian all you want, but she finally brought a reality show that stole my heart. The drinking. The mom complaining that some boy started a rumor that she’s on OnlyFans. The dads telling the dad who was thrown out to leave the beer. This series is already hitting on all cylinders.
TRAVEL BALL INSANITY: RIVAL 15U PARENTS BRAWL AT MISSISSIPPI ‘WORLD SERIES’ OVER YOUTH SPORTS DRAMA
“The best part of this show, and all the social media comments that it will engender, will be the people that make fun of it without realizing they could easily be starring in it,” one guy wrote on X.
Exactly. You’re going to have mama bears making fun of what Kardashian is presenting. Meanwhile, this exact reality is playing out at tournaments across this country and in Hampton Inn lobbies. The mama bears will contend this isn’t how they act.
Liars.

Credit where credit is due: Collinsworth
It’s easy to bang on Cris Collinsworth, but last night he absolutely nailed this one. Now, there will be plenty of moments this year when Cris talks out of his ass and everyone rushes to social media to call him an idiot. Last night, the guy started off the season strong.
How will AI kill all of us? Will robot mowers turn on us and chop our heads off in the middle of the night?
– Harvey D. in the 419 has a theory: So the way this thing goes down is a cross between Maximum Overdrive and take your pick of Terminator movies.
Everything connected to the web is out to unalive you. Your phone, over doses you with RF radiation (microwaves your brain),
The robot vac suddenly has you cornered. The icemaker in the fridge suddenly turns into a chain gun of cubes and blasts you to pulp. Oh, and its conspiring with the fridge to just put the temp out of range just far enough to turn the contents into a bacterial mine field. You dont notice. Three days later you got the roto rooter sickness. The connected car starts sending you into bad neighborhoods even if there is no traffic jams. Stop lights decide its a free for all at every intersection. Your smart TV starts doing replays of the View…. Ok I will stop.
You all get the drift.
Not anti A I or Pro AI. It’s an unknown. Are we all like the folks waiting on the Vikings or Chris Columbus(check local listings) to come home? Who knows. It could be a whole new world? It’s a hell of a ride, just be glad we got good seats for it. Buckle up. Not much you are gonna do to change it.
– Mark W. in Franklin, TN emails: Here is a link to the in-depth article about the homicidal AI. While I don’t think we are going to war with Skynet (not yet, anyway), there are a lot of unknowns about agentic AI and its ability to reason and adapt. The potential for problems, some known and a lot unknown, is going up.
Appreciate all you do.
– Jason DeM. looks back to the 1983 movie “WarGames”: Matthew Broderick showed us a long time ago. Global Thermalnuclear War!
– Voiceover Mike checks in: I was thinking that AI would just figure out a way to build these robots, like the ones at the robot games, and once they had their “army,” they would just take us out. I’m sure AI could take over drones and launch attacks on our cities. The only thing that would save us is that they would destroy the very infrastructure they need to survive. Then, a small rag-tag band of high school kids would knock out the rest and save the world. Wolverines!
– Scott S. suggests another movie: One of the scariest and most obscure films on this topic, outlines the how quite well:
Wikipedia Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossus:_The_Forbin_Project
– Greg S. suggests the same movie and one more: These show how AI can dominate humans and are worth a watch:
- Colossus – The Forbin Project
This is a movie about an AI defense computer taking control of the planet. It sounds like a Terminator plot but the difference is it doesn’t want to kill everybody, just control them via nuclear weapons. It’s 1970’s Kitch but is very interesting in how forward thinking it was and the efforts to stop it.

A disturbing episode about out-of-control military robot dogs killing everything they see.
– Rob M. in Florida believes AI will off the men first which will allow the rise of the WNBA and women’s flag football: AI, is coming for us, there is nothing we can do because it will come from a place we never suspect. It will slowly start to eliminate the men first, through the WNBA and the WPFFL ( Women’s Professional Flag Football League). No way you say, there is absolutely no way that the end of mankind comes from those two places, my friend, you would be mistaken. Here is the three point plan for the elimination of Mankind.
- The WNBA hires a new Commissioner, Lindsey Vonn. She takes the league by storm, expels the Lesbian Overlords and brings in new talent. Not just any new talent, beautiful young women who play the game the right way and give normal interviews. Interest starts to build with the male population, we actually start to watch and engage. These women are highly entertaining, beautiful and seem to truly be interested in what we think. They then make an announcement that Sydney Sweeney is the new Head Coach of the Las Vegas Aces, and they will be playing in a new arena inside the Wynn. Vegas starts to thrive again, men come to see the Sweeney Led Aces play and the “W’ starts scheduling Aces games in October at 1 pm in the afternoon. No way that happens, that is prime NFL season, who would make such a decision? On to Stage two.
- The WPFFL starts play in the year 2027, we are inundated with the stars of the new league on Sunday afternoons (see my previous story line about this scenario), we can’t get away from it. Slowly we start to turn on the NFL, Roger goes even deeper into the DEI well and starts putting former female athletes into the both to call games, the fanbase revolts. The new commissioner of the WPFFL starts to complain that their league is being discriminated against because of the large amount of Lesbians in the league. They sue the NFL for discrimination, homophobia and general Toxic Masculinity and win. President AOC applauds the decision and commissions a task force to root out the inherent misogyny in the now crippled NFL. The task force is led by the former commissioner of the W and a now pardoned Lindsey Clancy and determines the NFL is not suited for polite society and must be abolished. Roger resigns in disgrace, his numerous groveling apologies go unaccepted and he is sentenced to a lifetime guest spot on The View. With the NFL officially gone, we move to the final stage.
- With no NFL to watch, our attention now turns to a highly entertaining WNBA. Vegas is a point of destination for all men, we have to go see the big match up between the Sweeney led Aces ad the Alix Earle led Liberty. You can’t get tickets, the game is simulcast to different gambling venues around Vegas, men are pouring in to watch. Vegas then starts to offer “Pods” to watch the games, these single pods are all inclusive and have complete interaction with the coaches and players. Soon the pods are the hottest item in Vegas to see the W, men are lining up to get them, we never want to leave this newest form of entertainment. If this were a movie, the camera would then pan out to show giant buildings of these pods all lined up ala the Matrix.
Gentlemen the world is now run by AI who can easily influence the women via true crime documentaries and powered by pods of men watching the W. Enjoy the nightmares boys…..
Screencaps reader is still house hunting
– Jesse F. checks in after a long layoff: Hey Joe, it’s been awhile since I last wrote. Just wanted to give an update to the greatest column we all get to read everyday. Sorry for the long one…
Last I wrote, my wife and I were in the housing market and how crazy it was. Unfortunately, we still haven’t found a house mainly because my wife is due with our second child in November and we are now just going to wait until after the baby is born. The good news is all this waiting we have been able to save a lot of money which will help greatly with a down payment and closing cost with today’s housing market.
Second, my wife and I are enjoying our first vacation in a few years. I am currently writing this email from Cape May New Jersey as we took our one year-old son to the beach for his first time. Going the week after Labor Day is awesome. Everything is still open and it was much cheaper and still great weather. Also want to point out that there are American flags absolutely everywhere and I love it. It seems this part of our country still embraces those American values.
Lastly, I wanted to chime in on the AI since you talked about it in the Wednesday screen caps. I work in manufacturing for a pharmaceutical company and they are having us embrace AI when it comes to items such as writing emails drafting reports and problem-solving, etc. I’m fully on board because I want to be that person that can be knowledgeable enough on AI where my job is safe because about to have two kids and I’m still in my early 30s and I have a future to look out for. Anyway, I hope all is well with you and your family and keep up the good work.
Kinsey: I had to go back and look at when Jesse first started emailing. It was September 2024. He was 29 and his wife was due to have a baby in 2025. That happened and now she’s pregnant again. Back in February, Jesse mentioned how he and his wife were looking for homes, but the prices and quality of homes in SE Pennsylvania just don’t make sense.
Earlier this week, I took a look at real estate around here in NW Ohio. After about five minutes, I stopped. Between the taxes and interest rates, I’m out. Just last night, I told Mrs. Screencaps she might as well make this place as great as possible because there’s no way in hell I’d be caught in the housing market right now.
I can’t even imagine, Jesse. Keep us updated.
Screencaps readers doing good in the world
– Phil S. in Florida was kind this week: Hey Joe! I wanted to share a short story with you and anyone who wants to hear it, about just being nice. I tell everyone I know to just be nice to a stranger today. Small acts make big impacts.
Making someone laugh can change their day. Also not all red blooded Americans are the monsters NBC and CNN portray us as. As I was leaving the adult beverage store today, I saw a car back out of its parking spot and then just die. After depositing my purchase in my car I walked over and asked the driver if he needed help. He said the car sputtered a few times and died. His radio was playing so he had power, and that’s about where my automotive expertise ends.

I had him throw the car in neutral and pushed him into a parking spot. He got out and asked why I helped him. “It’s the right thing to do and I try to be a good person. Do you need a ride home?” He said no, shook my hand and gave me a “bro hug”. It took 2 minutes of my life to help a stranger and get that feeling of I just helped someone. More people need to help more people. Oh… and F the Packers

And that is enough on this Thursday morning with the sun shining and football from Australia on the agenda later tonight. Remember, these two teams had completely different travel schedules. The Rams have been in Australia for like 30 hours. The 49ers have been there all week. Gamble accordingly.
Let’s go have a great day.
