Oregon’s winning streak came to an abrupt end Saturday, with Oklahoma State pulling off the first major upset of the season in a 39-31 victory.
The result snapped the Cowboys’ 21-game skid against FBS opponents and gave first-year Oklahoma State coach Eric Morris his first win with the program. It also ended Oregon’s 41-game winning streak against unranked opponents.
The breakthrough sparked a memorable celebration in Stillwater, especially after Oklahoma State went 1-11 last season and opened this year with a 24-10 loss to Tulsa.

Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker threw for 317 passing yards and two touchdowns, adding 109 yards and a rushing score in the upset win.

Mestemaker, who played for Morris last season at North Texas, bounced back from a poor performance in the opener. His 10-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter gave the Cowboys the lead for good.
