“Landman” fans better be ready to wait for new episodes.
Taylor Sheridan’s hit show about the oil business in Texas with Billy Bob Thornton leading the way is an exceptional series.
It has plenty of dark moments like much of Sheridan’s other works, but it also has the perfect blend of light-hearted moments and comedy.

The drama is also mega-popular with TV fans. Viewers have been eager to get an update on when it will return.

“Landman” production pushes releases to 2027.
Season two of “Landman” came to an end on January 18, 2026. There had been some hope that maybe season three would premiere this year.
That’s not going to happen.

Star James Jordan addressed the status earlier in August with comments that flew under the radar until ScreenRant made them go viral this week.
“I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore. So it’s going to be a great ride. We start that sometime in September and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year,” Jordan told Us Weekly.

If production is going into the first quarter of 2027, then “Landman” fans 100% aren’t getting season three in 2026.
That’s absolutely not happening. At best, fans might be looking at a release at some point between May 2027 and late summer 2027.

Ideal? No, but delays sometimes happen. In fact, they happen all the time in the entertainment industry. What I can say with complete certainty is that fans will be more than happy to wait as long as Taylor Sheridan’s show returns with the same excellence fans saw in the first two seasons.
All will be fine as long as the product meets expectations, and when it comes to Sheridan, it almost always does.
