Swifties wasted no time streaming “The Life of a Showgirl,” and the numbers prove it.

Taylor Swift released her highly anticipated 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on Friday. The album, co-produced by Max Martin and Karl “Shellback” Schuster, includes 12 songs and features Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.

Spotify announced on Friday that “The Life of a Showgirl” became the platform’s most-streamed album in a single day this year. The album reached that milestone in just 11 hours. That same day, Spotify said one track — “The Fate of Ophelia” — became the most-streamed song in a single day in the platform’s history.

“The Life of a Showgirl” broke similar records on other streaming sites, like Apple Music, which said it became the platform’s biggest album this year by first-day streams worldwide. “The Fate of Ophelia” also became Apple Music’s biggest song of 2025 based on single-day streams globally.

On Amazon Music, “The Life of a Showgirl” broke the record Swift previously set with her 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

“On October 3rd, @taylorswift13’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ became the most-streamed album of all time in its first day on Amazon Music globally, breaking her own previous record set by The Tortured Poets Department!” the platform wrote on X.

    And it’s not just streaming.

Swift is also doing numbers at the weekend box office. The “Actually Romantic” singer arranged a theatrical event — Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl — to coincide with the album’s release from October 3 to October 5.

Fans can spend $12 at AMC Theatres to see the world premiere of “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, behind-the-scenes clips from the music video shoot, new lyric videos, and Swift’s reflections about “The Life of a Showgirl.”

AMC Theatres Distribution told Business Insider that the theatrical event raked in almost $16 million on Friday and is forecast to reach $25 million to $30 million at the domestic weekend box office, far outpacing Dwayne Johnson’s buzzy Oscars play, “The Smashing Machine.”

The hype surrounding “The Life of a Showgirl” comes after Swift announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in August. The couple, who began dating in 2023, shared a glimpse of the moment on Instagram.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the caption read.
