Taylor Swift and her representatives have kept details of the wedding, which is reportedly being held on July 4 in Madison Square Garden, tightly under wraps. This has led fans to piece together clues, including who could be on the guest list.
Ed Sheeran and other celebrities are in NYC
Fans have seized on sightings of celebrities in New York known to be friends of Swift as evidence that they could be attending her wedding.
On Tuesday, Ed Sheeran was spotted at an upscale Italian restaurant, BuonaSera on the Lake, located in Malta, New York. The co-owner, Danielle Hartwyk, posted on Instagram that Sheeran visited her restaurant with Aaron Dessner, a member of The National and one of Swift’s collaborators.
One commenter said Sheeran might not have wanted her to share the photo, but Hartwyk said he gave her permission to post it once he had left. “To my knowledge he is not staying in the general vicinity,” she added.
Sheeran and Dessner aren’t the only people whose movements have been revealed by businesses posting on social media.
A menswear store in Kansas City, Peter Clothiers, posted a photo of Andy Reid, the head coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, getting fitted with a tuxedo on June 13. The caption read that he and fellow executives, Brett Veach and Rick Burkholder, were getting custom suits for Swift and Kelce’s wedding.
Other stars spotted in New York ahead of the wedding include Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, and Camila Cabello.
The TV presenter Graham Norton was photographed arriving at JFK Airport alongside his husband, Jono McLeod. Swift invited Norton on his chat show in October, and later appeared in her video for Opalite.
People are also guessing who won’t be attending. Katy Perry, for example, is performing on tour in Spain on Saturday and Sunday, which has led fans to rule her out from the guest list.
